Brooklyn Book Festival
4 PM: Portraits of the Everyday
Main Stage
209 Joralemon Street
About the Event
Between imagining the varieties of life’s circumstances, embodying the perspectives of numerous people, and capturing the distinctly human emotions amidst it all, join Ed Park (An Oral History of Atlantis: Stories), Lynne Tillman (Thrilled to Death: Selected Stories), and Jared Lemus (Guatemalan Rhapsody: Stories) as they delve into what writing short stories means to them. From jealousy of blooming friendships between their partner and a FedEx courier, attending parties in the suits of dead fathers, and getting caught up with an American film crew, these new collections provide snapshots of a life both ordinary and unexpected. Moderated by Sabir Sultan, director, World Voices Festival.
